Myself and a trainee driver were pulling up to a client's shop-- way out in the county--to drop a load of auction wins that he had won from a municipal auction in Thomaston, Georgia. As we pulled up--I saw it--sitting beside the shop in grass that was slightly above my chest. An old cabover that, at first glance didn't look like much. But I had already glanced, more than once.
I walked over there and started looking the old girl over. Other than heavy coat of dust and grime, she looked like she had been living in a museum for the last couple of decades. Her panels were straight, her frame was solid, and the interior was close to factory perfect.
"What are you looking at?!" my driver asked, as he walked over to see why I was grinning ear to ear.
"Pretty sure I'm looking at our new road tractor." i said, still grinning.
"Yeah, WHATEVER." he said as he got back to unchaining our load. Unfazed, I was still grinning, as I pulled my phone out, and dialed the man to talk to.
This picture is a few days later, as were loading it onto Truck #3 to take her to her new home.
You can't have a diamond in the rough, without the rough. Fortunately, this level of rough isn't all that rough. I think the old girl, just needs some pampering. Grab the bubble bath!
It's amazing, what a bath will do. She's already feeling better! More to come!
